Hardware (Nuts and Bolts):Galvanized and zinc-plated hardware on our swings are rust resistant and are included in the cost of the swing. Swing Mate Comfort Springs: They are shown in the pictures above and are not included with the swing unless you add them as an upgrade to your order from the drop down menu above. Swing-Mate comfort springs are primarily designed for use with porch swings and hammocks they feature a barrel-shaped extension spring specially designed for comfort. The spring is manufactured from. 218 diameter heavy-duty music wire and heavily zinc plated for rust resistance; it is 2″ in diameter and 8.5″ long with a weight capacity of 600 pounds each. Two springs are great for 2′ through 7′ wide swings. Swing-Mate comfort springs are designed to fit between the ceiling hooks and the swing chain. This helps reduce the shock stress to support structures and creates a soft gliding on air affect that most people love. Hanging Chains: The chain set is included with the swing and will accommodate ceilings up to 8 ft. It includes two deluxe ceiling hooks with neoprene washers and two “Y” type assemblies. Each assembly consists of two 1/0 x 27″ double loop chains and one 2/0 x 54″ chain connected with a ¼ x 2¼ S-hook. The neoprene washers on the ceiling hooks prevent noise as well as metal to metal contact. It is galvanized to prevent rust! The chain set is ready to hook to your swing. Weight limit :– 500 lbs. Can you give me the dimensions from center of arm rests? The span between where each side of the chain comes through the arm rest is 1 foot. If you mean from arm rest to arm rest that would be 4 feet 11 inches. Also can I get dimension from outside edge to outside edge? Does the 5′ swing have 2 intermediate seat/back support boards? There are indeed two intermediate supports for both the seat and the back of the swing. How thick are seat and back slats? The seat and back slats are a very sturdy approx 1-inch thick. The width of each back and seat slat is approx 1.75-inches with some being narrower in the leading edge and at top of the seat back. 10 – 15 minutes to assemble!! Please note that all holes are predrilled and that all hardware is supplied with your swing, including the chains and hooks to hang it with.
