In the care/maintenance section of the directions, it says To prolong the product lifetime, avoid extended & lengthy exposure to rain & sunshine. Where possible, place under covers &/or patio & awnings. We bought it for our uncovered deck. In the product description online, it says it’s great for outside. So, I know it won’t look this pretty for long. The seat is very roomy & comfortable. I think it’s a great product for the price but don’t look forward to staining it in a few years. We were to get two different size allen keys, but actually received three of the same size. Had to get the tool box out for the size we needed. We were also short 2 pc of the washers, so to the washer jar we went. Assembly was easy but you do need two people. Very attractive & very suitable for our taste. Beautiful but doesn’t hold up. Assembly wasn’t bad and the swing itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, we’ve only had it 4 months and the wood is splitting in multiple places, especially on the arms where you can see the bolts through the wood. I assumed it would wear more quickly being outside, but it should last longer than 4 months. Fell apart after just two weeks. Supports for the bench started splinting after just two weeks. Had to replace them with treated 2×4′s. This swing is beautiful but pure junk, if I wanted to build a swing I would have. It was a gift so it was kind of embarrassing when I found out yesterday that it fell apart that quickly. Would not order any Christopher Knight furniture ever again. I bought this piece for my patio ant it has really disappointed us. It doesn’t hold well outside and the wood is already falling apart, not safe to fit on and I don’t know if I can get replacement. The 2pc poles holes were not drilled for the bolt/nut to secure the 2 pieces as one but supplied a screw to tighten the two poles as one, that did not hold. We are repeat O.
