They receive this lumber while it is still wet from treatment. After slowly drying it for several months in our drying shed, we plane it on all four sides and round the corners. Next, we sort the boards for various parts, with an eye toward best appearance and strong construction. We then cut the boards into parts, router any edges that will be exposed on the finished product, and pre-drill holes for the bolts and screws used in assembling the furniture. What type of wood is used? Ok, its wood clearly. We dont just use lumber from Lowes or Home Depot though. Lumber quality is measured in grades.. You have the Home Depot/Lowes grade which is lacking, but gets the job done. Not only do we start with the highest quality lumber, we also slow air dry all of our wood on drying racks for a minimum of 6 weeks before we ever begin working with it. The drying time allows for each piece to fully cure and stabilize before we begin creating Texas Casual Outdoor furniture. Its part of our relentless pursuit of the best possible products which leads us to use such high-quality material. What Type of Finish Does This Product Have? A key step in the process is the final one where the stain is applied to the products We use a high solids, industrial quality, penetrating, oil base stain/sealer for every piece we craft. It contains a nanoparticle U. Inhibitor, a proven mildewcide, and the best quality trans oxide pigments. We developed this stain/sealer specifically for durability and ease of maintenance on this furniture. (Can Be Ordered To Re-Apply).
